KeepQuest is designed to be privacy-first. Your photo library and contacts are processed on your device for cleanup. We do not require an account, and the App does not upload your photos or contacts to KeepQuest servers. The App may show third-party ads via Google AdMob and may send limited technical diagnostics (not your photos or contacts) to help us operate the App. You can turn off personalized ads in Settings.
This Privacy Policy explains how KeepQuest (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the KeepQuest iOS application (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who we are

2. Information we process
Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, the App may process the following categories of information:
2.1 Photo Library
If you grant Photo Library access, the App may read photo and video metadata and content on your device to find similar photos, screenshots, and large videos, show previews, and—only when you confirm—delete items you select. Similar-photo features may rank candidates (for example favorites, edits, and resolution) and offer Safe Recommend for high-confidence duplicates. Photo access is used for cleanup features on your device. Deleted items follow Apple’s Photos behavior (including Recently Deleted, where applicable).
2.2 Contacts
If you grant Contacts access, the App may read contact details such as names, phone numbers, email addresses, and postal addresses to detect possible duplicates and suggest merges. Merges you confirm are performed locally through the iOS Contacts framework.
2.3 App preferences and progress (on device)
The App stores preferences and progress locally on your device (for example via system storage such as UserDefaults), which may include:
- Theme, language, haptics, reminder, and personalized-ads settings
- Onboarding and App Tracking Transparency request state
- XP, level, streak, reclaimed storage totals, and daily quest progress
- Recent cleanup operation summaries (for example category, counts, bytes freed, and timestamps)—not the content of your photos or contacts
- Day keys used for streaks and weekly reclaim charts
2.4 Local notifications
If you enable reminders, the App may schedule local notifications on your device (for example a daily cleanup reminder around 20:00 local time). Notification content may reference quest or streak status stored on your device. These notifications are delivered by iOS and are not sent through KeepQuest servers.
2.5 Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App integrates the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to show interstitial and rewarded ads (no banner or native ad formats in the current version). Depending on your region, consent choices, App Tracking Transparency (ATT) status, and the in-app “Personalized Ads” setting, AdMob may process advertising identifiers (such as IDFA when ATT is authorized), device and app signals, ad interaction data, and related information to deliver ads, measure performance, and fight fraud. Attribution may also use Apple’s SKAdNetwork framework.
Personalized ads are requested only when all of the following allow it: (1) Personalized Ads is enabled in KeepQuest Settings, (2) you authorized tracking via ATT where applicable, and (3) any required consent via Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) has been obtained or is not required. Otherwise, the App requests non-personalized ads.
Google’s processing is governed by Google’s privacy policies and AdMob terms (see Google Privacy Policy and AdMob & privacy). KeepQuest does not upload your photo library or contacts to AdMob.
2.6 Technical diagnostics (KeepQuest)
To operate and improve the App, KeepQuest may send limited technical information to our service endpoints (for example under the keepquesklt.com domain). This may include:
- A device vendor identifier (IDFV), not your advertising ID
- App version and a product identifier
- Coarse event signals such as first install, ATT authorization status, and in-app navigation/feature codes
These diagnostics do not include the contents of your photos, videos, or contacts. They are used for product operation, reliability, and understanding how features are used—not for selling your personal information.
2.7 Device and system information
Like most apps, KeepQuest relies on standard iOS APIs (for example permission status, local storage, and notification scheduling). Crash or system logs may also be processed by Apple according to your device and Apple ID settings.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Scan and present cleanup candidates, including similar-photo ranking and Safe Recommend
- Perform deletions or contact merges you confirm
- Power quests, XP, levels, streaks, charts, and themes
- Provide optional local reminders
- Remember your settings between sessions
- Show optional rewarded ads (for example bonus XP) and interstitial ads at natural transitions—core cleanup does not require watching an ad
- Operate advertising and measure ad performance via Google AdMob
- Operate the App and understand feature usage via limited technical diagnostics
4. What we do not do
KeepQuest:
- Does not require you to create an account or sign in
- Does not operate KeepQuest servers that receive your photo library or contacts
- Does not sell your personal information
- Does not require watching an ad to complete core cleanup actions
- Does not use your precise location for advertising
5. iCloud and Apple services
If photos or videos in your library are stored in iCloud Photos, iOS may download media to your device so the App can display or process them. That transfer is handled by Apple’s systems between your device and your Apple account—not by KeepQuest servers. Apple’s privacy practices apply to Apple services.
6. Permissions
The App requests access only when needed for a feature you use:
- Photos — to scan, preview, and delete items you choose
- Contacts — to find duplicates and merge contacts you choose
- Notifications — only if you enable reminders
- Tracking (ATT) — may be requested during onboarding (and related flows) so ads can be personalized if you allow it; you can refuse and still use the App
You can disable personalized ads in KeepQuest Settings. Ads may still appear in a non-personalized form. In the EEA/UK and other regions where required, Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) may also present a consent and/or IDFA explainer form.
You can revoke permissions at any time in iOS Settings. If you revoke access, related features may stop working until access is granted again.
7. Data retention and deletion
Photo and contact content remains in Apple’s Photos and Contacts systems under your control. App preferences and progress remain on your device until you delete the App, reset device data, or clear local app data through available in-app or system methods. Uninstalling KeepQuest removes the App’s local data from that device according to iOS behavior. Technical diagnostics retained on our side are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, then deleted or aggregated.
8. Children’s privacy
KeepQuest is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App in a way that reaches us, contact [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps.
9. International users
Cleanup of photos and contacts is designed for on-device processing. Technical diagnostics and advertising partners may process limited data on servers that could be located outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards and your consent or other lawful bases. If you access Apple services such as iCloud, Apple may process data according to Apple’s terms and policies.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, or to object to certain processing. For on-device photo and contact content, many requests are best handled by using iOS controls (permissions, deleting items in Photos/Contacts, or deleting the App). You can also turn off personalized ads in KeepQuest Settings and manage tracking in iOS Settings. For questions or requests about technical diagnostics or this Policy, email [email protected].
11. Security
We design KeepQuest to minimize sensitive library data leaving your device. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. Please keep your device locked and up to date, and review iOS privacy settings regularly.
12. Third-party links and platforms
Our website or App Store listing may link to third-party sites or services (including Apple and Google). Those services are governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be highlighted in the App Store listing or in the App when appropriate. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
